Adrian has a BSc. In Applied Biology and qualified as an Environmental Health Officer in 1974. In 1979 he moved to Southern Ireland for 1 year to project manage a german controlled aquaculture enterprise startup. Over the next 11 years 3 additional companies were operated covering aquaculture, construction and engineering and shellfish exporting. Adrian was MD of all four companies and also a director of a local community company. In the late 1980s the aquaculture enterprises were relocated to mainland Greece, where Adrian spent 10 days per month.
Adrian returned to the UK in 1989 having gained extensive experience in SME growth and change in Ireland, Germany and Greece.
Since 1989 Adrian has worked with over 200 clients in many different commercial, industrial and voluntary sectors under both private and government sponsored schemes.
Adrian has been successful in writing funding bids and grant applications under a wide range of schemes including ESF, ERDF, Obj 5b, RSA, Innovation, Rural Enterprise and PMG. He has worked in designing and implementing Quality Management Standards to BS EN ISO 90001:2000.
Adrian has recently developed and delivered, under NLDC funding through Hull Cityventure, a entrepreneurial diagnostic for the voluntary sector, is currently working with Futurebuilders England and also under a locally delivered Social Enterprise Support programme. He also recently helped to deliver an Business Expansion Support programme for the construction sector under an LSC ESF project.
Adrian also served as Vice Chairman of East Yorkshire Community and Mental Health NHS Trust from 1992 to 1997. He is currently Chairman of a newly formed social enterprise, Child Dynamix a designated Children’s Centre, operating in Hull with 50 staff.
